What are trace minerals?
Trace minerals are minerals that are needed in very small amounts. But, the problem is, there are no requirements yet for trace minerals—only for bigger minerals like calcium and vitamins.

About iodine:

• The function of iodine supports the brain function in a growing infant.
• All cells need iodine.
• The reproductive organs need iodine.
• Iodine is also used to detoxify heavy metals.
• Iodine is needed to reduce the need for insulin.
• Iodine helps control metabolism through the thyroid.

One cause of thyroid problems or iodine problems would be the lack of conversion of T4 to T3.

More iodine deficiency causes:

• Low iodine from the diet
• Consuming too many cruciferous vegetables
• Low salt diet
• Stress
• Endocrine disrupters
• High levels of estrogen
• Liver damage
• Lack of bile

Iodine deficiency symptoms:

• Weight gain
• Brain fog
• Psychiatric disorders
• Cancer
• Fibrocystic breasts
• Cysts on ovaries or testicles
• Prostate enlargement
• Depression/Fatigue
• Slow thyroid/Goiter
• Menstrual cycle problems
• PCOD
• Salvia deficiency
• Thyroid nodules
• Migraines
• Miscarriages/Stillbirths

Foods high in iodine:

• Strawberries
• Eggs
